Hello beautiful people! Sorry for the long absence, I've been busy with personal life things, including an acceptance to a new program at uni (yay for me!), which means I'll be blogging less for a while (boo!).  Also, sunny weather means lazy days outside and more walking, picnicking, and wedding food, I decided to take a break from blogging. I think I'll be a little infrequent over the next couple of weeks, but I'll be back in the swing of things once I am all summered out.  Is that possible?  We shall soon find out.

Well, the summer season comes with that inevitable wedding season, and everyone finds themselves in need of at least two or three new suits to get them through the upcoming months, and now, with Eid this year, for those celebrating, that's at least another two.  While surfing the web for ideas on what to wear, I came across these.

Real Bride: Atlanta Engagement from Love Captured Simply Photography - Part 2

Hey guys, I really fell off the grid on this one, didn't I? On Thursday last week, I posted the engagement of a couple from Atlanta and never got back to you with pictures from the evening reception! I apologize, I've been caught up with a few other things, but I'm gonna try and get back on track with blogging and hopefully you'll be hearing from me more often.  The weather is improving, I'm getting busier with a few upcoming plans, and getting back into sewing a few maxi dresses for the warmer weather, so it's been easier to get distracted.

If you didn't already see it, here's the first part of this engagement session from Atlanta area Photographer Rupa Kapoor of Love Captured Simply Photography. Here's what she had to say about photographing this couple:
When Bini & Vamshi came to me to photograph their Engagement, they told me they selected me because I didn't do the "typical" Indian photography!  They wanted a touch of artsy, fun and glam and most important, Bini said what she saw in my photos that she really wanted was emotion and love.  I was thrilled because I love working with clients who are so open to showing that connection they have with one another!   So needless to say, I was excited about working with the two of them on their special day.  Theirs wasn't a typical Engagement since Bini & Vamshi felt it was very important to have a proper Engagement ceremony at the Indian temple in Atlanta. The ceremony at the temple was very small and private and held on what the couple considered an "auspicious day" for them.  And even though they wanted to have this traditional ceremony, they also wanted to follow it later that day with a fun Engagement portrait session.  The beauty of the actual session was that the coupled wore gorgeous Indian garb but we photographed it in a historical home in the city! Talk about polar opposites that worked beautifully and provided the couple Engagement memories that will last a lifetime I am sure!

Real Bride: Atlanta Engagement from Love Captured Simply Photography - Part 1

With my parents gone to India, and me and my sisters being left to fend for ourselves until they get back, I've been feeling a wee bit stretched, and so, there's very little room for inspiration, and even less for blogging time.  But then, every now and then, a little gem is dropped into my inbox that reminds me why I love blogging about weddings in the first place, and I can't help but feel reinvigorated.  Take these pictures by Rupa Kapoor of Love Captured Simply Photography, I love to see couples in love, it really brings out the hopeless romantic in me, and the sweet, unassuming tenderness between this couple is hard to miss in these images, which really, truly, capture love.

Designer Bride: Vera Wang at Bridal Market Spring 2013

Hello my friends, hope you had a good weekend. To be quite truthful, I didn't.  This cold cloudy weather we are having in Toronto is getting me down.  It's May already, I want some sunshine *insert teary eyed face here*.  Today I'm taking a bit of a departure from my standard fare to cover a different culture.  For fusion brides looking to blend a little of both cultures, perhaps you can take some inspiration from the inimitable Vera Wang.  This season, the designer has chosen to take inspiration from her native China and make gowns in all shades of red, from a bright candy coral to an almost plum wine red. 

I ordinarily don't cover English style clothes, since I don't think most desi brides will wear them, but my sister tells me that it's become quite the style in the UK since the Royal Wedding, and Shawna at Maharani Weddings wore a red gown for her reception. What do you think, is this an option you would consider?
