People don't believe me when I tell them, but yellow is coming back in a big way on the South Asian fashion front. I think because it's not a very easy colour to wear, or possibly because it is too bright for even us colour loving desis. In their latest collection, Virtues managed to make the color work in their favour, by cooling it down with tones of watercolour grey and creams and using diaphanous chiffons and watery silks to keep the tones from overwhelming the models. With geometric, repetitive floral prints reminiscint of an arabesque frieze placed along necklines, and various pieces cut in the style of abayas and moroccan takschitas, this is a collection inspired by the desert. Many of the pieces were accessorized with beautiful clutches and beaded bib necklaces.
