The Accessorized Bride: Lovely Details at Marchesa Spring 2013 - New York Fashion Week

Friday, September 28, 2012 | |
Marchesa's collection at Spring 2013 opened to rave reviews this past month at NYFW, and in the desi blogosphere, it caused quite a stir with it's clever fusion take on India.  It's been blogged loads of places elsewhere, so I may just highlight a few of my fave pieces here and there in a later post, or I may not, we'll see if the mood strikes.  I do, however, want to blog about the accessories, which were underserved in coverage, and are worth talking about, because of the mix of Indian-inspired pieces, and pieces that were direct copies of ethnic design, all beautiful.

I often wish they would use Indian models for the Indian inspired fashion on the runways.

at hfm, that's actually a good point! it didn't occur to me, that. Karl Lagerfield did have several Desi models walk the runway of his Indian inspired couture collection last Spring.
