Love At First Sight: Custom White Lehenga from Bombay Trendz

Thursday, September 13, 2012 | |
I see a LOT of wedding clothes, a lot of beautiful brides wearing wedding clothes and many fashion shows and styled shoots with so many gorgeous outfits. So why single this one out, to say I loved it the moment I saw it? Probably because I felt it was a rarity, I so often find white lehengas that I feel are well executed in design and better styled on set. But this piece...well, let's start at the top, shall we?

Bombay Trendz Lehenga via Wedluxe Magazine

With the  overlapping panels of the choli ending in the V-shape seam just skimming the waist and belly is flattering by adding curves and elongating the torso at the same time.  I love the cool tones of the gold embroidery, which suit the white more than some yellow-gold beadwork might have done, and the light hand in applying the motifs along the skirt, the half-circle design on the centre of the dupatta creates a beautiful focal point when placed on the head, and a natural resting place for draping over the shoulder.  Together with the art deco style jewellery from designer Tara Fava.  Though I love clothes, and I love fashion, there are very few dresses, that make me say, I want to get married all over again to wear this one.  Here's a very special piece, available as a custom order from Toronto's own Bombay Trendz. Price: Available upon request.
