I've had these images on my laptop for some time now, and have kept neglecting to post them, not because I don't love them, on the contrary, this is hands down my favourite collection of the past year. I think I was just looking for the right segueway. Well, since I had a chance to post his annual bridal exhibition last week, it seems like a good time. I loved this collection for the impeccable draping, which I always find flattering and wearable and it's clever play on Tahiliani's inspiration for the collection, the Ottoman empire. He infuses elements of the era, with a contemporary sensibility, in a way that is accessible to modern desi woman. The challenge for many designers is their tendency to fall into an overly literal interpretation of a theme, and watching a parade of costumes instead of wearable pieces one might buy, wear or see in the creation of new trends.
