Several designers, notably Tabassum Mughal, showed pieces with Kiran (that shiny gold fringe), totally vintage. My mother had that on her walima clothes! Also, does anyone know what those round beads are called? They are making a comeback, seen on the catwalk as a border on the dupattas, it also works nicely as embelishment on the corners of non-bridal dupattas and on necklines, sleeve closures, etcetera.

Makeup - Bronzed Beauties
This year's show featured a de-emphasis on the eyes, with fewer designers showing trends like heavy cat-eyes or smokey eye. Instead, the skin was the thing, with a lot of designers using elements like heavy highlighting, bronzing, gold and tan makeup paired with nude lips to create dramatic, sundrenched beauties.

Colours - Pretty in Pastel
Still catering to the modern bride's request for softer palettes, but moving away from watercolour shades, designers are experimenting with pastels for a more vibrant, springtime feel.

Jewellery - The Naath, Chaand Tika and the Half Matha Pathi
Dramatic, beaded pieces, with a twist on the old styles, and for those who love the off-centre look, trendsetters have set the tone for the runway, where designers showcased the half matha in several shows.

I've heard them called 'zari balls' possibly because of what they're made of, but don't know if that's the official name! I've noticed them a lot on traditional-style bridals a lot these last couple of years too x
Zari Balls...I'll call them Zari Beads. Don't know what the official name is, maybe I'll ask someone on paklinks. Yeah, they have been showing up here and there, a friend had them sewn in the neckline of her dress like buttons, it looked quite pretty!
Yes my sister bought a ready made outfit with them along the front of her dress like buttons, that was the best part of her dress!
I love Kiran! My mother in law sewed it onto my baat pakki dupatta because the dupatta was plain. I love looking at pictures from our parents weddings - every bride seems to have Kiran on the corners! My mom had it on both the wedding & valima.
Not a huge fan of the "Zari Balls/Beads" on dupatta's to be honest. I feel like it takes away from the bride's beauty
@shaza...zadi beads kinda grew on me, and I think you're right, they don't suit everyone.
My mum had kiran on her dupatta too - it's so pretty!
I had zari beads on both my wedding and valima outfits! They were all along the bottom of my skirt ("to weigh it down" according to the tailor), and up the back of my blouse like buttons. I don't know what they're actually called, but they are way cute in photos.
