When I was working with a graphic designer on this blog, she asked me what colours I did NOT like. I told her that my least favourite colour was blue. This made her laugh, because she said she'd never met someone who didn't like blue. And I'm not surprised, since blue is the colour of calm, and water and sky, it's hard not to like it when we love to see it every morning rather than grey, right? The thing with me and color is, I think of them in terms of fashion and design, and I can't live in or wear blue too often, so I tend to stay away from it.
There is, however, one major exception. And that is this beautiful shade of blue, which defies my attempts to describe it. I want to call it electric, but it's a shade too deep for that. I want to call it royal, but in my mind, royal blue is slightly darker. Cerulean is a good word, but maybe a little too chalky in tone. In any case, you know what I mean, if you've been in the shops lately, the shade of blue I love is everywhere. I've already promised myself that by the end of the summer I shall own at least one nail polish and two tops in this color.
It's a bit strong for a bridal outfit, but it works well as an accent color, for many shades of red, coral, orange and turquoise. And I'm sure on bridesmaids it will be stunning, and hopefully, a colour they will want to wear after the day.
