Designer Bride: Payal Singhal at Lakme Fashion Week 2011

Wednesday, November 23, 2011 | |
Designer Payal Singhal's collection at this past Lakme Fashion Week was definitely a standout show for me. She added elements like jeweled necklines and chains hanging from the sleeves, which gave it a feminine, dreamy feel.  With an amphasis on more muted tones including blush and pencil grey, she flavours flowing, less structured silhouettes which are very wearable.  Her collections feature a variety of styles from,  Pakistani chudidaar, to fusion pieces, to concept lenghas, all are very wearable.  At Bridalicious, I based by Chanel-themed board around her style, and many people were commenting on the pictures, wondering where the clothes were from, so I figured they were something a lot of brides could envision themselves in for the big day.  Payal Singhal is available through her NYC boutique in the states, and Exclusively. In online.

there is not such thing as pakistani churidar? I have a pakistan lady who sells her designs here in CA that told me that she gets her churidar the tights that are in now from India as they are not available in Pakistan. Pakistan just started enjoying the churidar and making it a fashion in their industry. 2011.

Hi anon, I think it's more of a general term, since these days everyone on both sides of the border wears every style and cut that's in fashion, regardless of whether it's pakistani or indian, but currently, if you shop for desi wear in India, they sell certain cuts, such as a straighter, longer kameez made of a stiffer satin or silk under the term "pakistani style"
you can see an example of that on exclusively.in, here
The same goes for cigarette trousers, have you heard of those? They tend to be sold as pakistani in India.

Also, the legging style that you're referring to is very popular in India currently, and you're right, they are not available in pakistan, but they are made of a more spandexy material, and are worn with a kalidar style (loads of panels in the kameez) suit
