My Weekend: Red, White and Pink

Monday, October 4, 2010 | |
Happy Monday everyone! I was feeling inspired by the tea reception photoshoot I featured last week, and decided to do something at home.  Since my daughter's cousins were coming over, I thought I would do a kiddie tea party.

I used these espresso cups I'd received as a bombonniere from a summer wedding for tea (strawberry milkshake) cups.  I went on all Amy Atlas on the table and made the candy, cookies and cupcakes red, white and pink (colours were the little princess' request).  The kids were completely non-plussed by the whole thing, and It turned out to be more for my edification than theirs, of course.

Also, I have a chinese-themed do coming up, and all I can think is mandarin collars, paper fans and chopsticks!  Need a less stereotypical idea, any suggestions?

@sonia...lol when my husband saw this pic he turned around and said to me, "you're not going to take this trouble for our son when gets older, are you?" i told him that unfortunately, I have a feeling that all it will take to make our son and his friends happy is a pizza and some video games.
